A man who drinks alcohol, that man is deliberately thirsty
Thirsty Lunch has been supported since 2004 by private and corporate donations, as well as by support from our Friends of Thirsty Lunch. We are pleased to host events free of charge because of these donations, and we would like to thank everyone who has contributed to this.

Thirsty Lunch grew out of our wish to help bring together members of the public interested in books, literature, poetry or music with some of the best of Scotland's writers and performers for informal readings and discussions.

Although we've profiled several more famous names, we delight in programming successful but lesser known writers in all genres (novels, history, travel, poetry), often published by Scottish companies such as Argyll Books, Luath Press, Mercat Press and Koo Press.

Our sponsors and friends of Thirsty Lunch are listed on this page, and we raise our glass to them for their great work in making this happen!
